BACKGROUND: An online patient community platform start-up was seeking ways to drive revenue from non-subscriber sources.

METHODOLOGY: EC Insights leveraged its knowledge of pharmaceutical companies patient level data needs and their expertise in patient-facing healthcare market research to design patient friendly surveys that collected meaningful information for both patients and pharmaceutical companies. EC Insights then created a pitch packet showcasing the different types of patient-level data the client had access to and how pharmaceutical companies could leverage it to learn more about different disease states, treatments, and patient perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors.

RESULTS: The company successfully used this pitch packet to gain pharmaceutical company funding in exchange for anonymized patient-level data.
